Le Grau d'Agde honors its seafarers on Sunday, June 21, 2026. A mass will be held at 6:00 PM at the Sacré-Cœur church (rue de l'Église), followed by a parade through the streets of Grau at 6:30 PM, culminating in a floral tribute at the end of the jetty, at the lighthouse, and then a reception at 7:30 PM on the place des Mûriers. This is a maritime tradition from the fishing district of Agde, organized by the Comité des Fêtes.
It is one of the most moving traditions of Le Grau d'Agde, a fishing village located at the mouth of the Hérault. The procession descends towards the river and follows the quays to the jetty, where fishing boats pass by walkers, with La Tamarissière facing them on the opposite bank. The floral tribute at the lighthouse, in memory of the lost sailors, takes place facing the Mediterranean. This moment is shared: locals, families of fishermen, and summer visitors from the nearby Cap d'Agde gather for the reception, followed by the concert for the Fête de la Musique, which continues the evening on the same square.
