Every summer, the Festival of the Sea makes the heart of Cap d'Agde beat to the rhythm of maritime traditions. On Sunday, July 26, 2026, Quai Jean Miquel and the entire Centre-Port become the stage for a day that blends reverence and popular joy. It's one of those gatherings that brings together families from the area, fishermen, pleasure boaters, and vacationers coming together to share a timeless moment.

The morning opens with a solemn moment of remembrance. At 10:00 am, the Saint-Benoît church hosts a mass in tribute to fallen sailors, a solemn moment that reminds us how much the sea is part of the Agathois soul. Meanwhile, traveling musicians animate the quays of the Centre-Port from 10:00 to 1:00 pm, and the atmosphere gradually reaches the terraces and pontoons.

The most moving moment arrives around 11:45 am: the sea procession with the blessing of the boats and the laying of wreaths. The vessels sail by, adorned with flags, under the Mediterranean sun, in a waterborne procession that leaves no one unmoved. It's a typically local scene, where reverence mingles with the deep blue of the Great Sea.
