Water jousting tournament Challenge Ferrero on the Hérault

The "Ferrero" Challenge jousting tournament takes place on Friday, July 24, 2026, on the Hérault, along the quai Commandant Méric, in Grau d'Agde. There will be a parade through the streets of Grau at 7:30 PM, with the tournament starting at 8:00 PM. This jousting evening is organized by the SNJA, a living tradition along the banks of the Hérault in Agde.

Languedoc jousting is experienced here in its original setting: the river, the quays, the red and blue boats charging at each other while the audience lines up along the quai Commandant Méric. The pre-tournament parade, accompanied by music through the streets of Grau d'Agde, whets the village's appetite; then the jousters mount the tintaine and the show begins, each bout greeted by the crowd gathered on the quays. Attending a tournament by the Hérault, between the fishing village and the sea, allows you to touch one of the oldest traditions of the Agde coastline — free, spectacular, and authentic.
