Commémoration du Débarquement de Provence

Every August 15th, Cape Agde remembers. The Commemoration of the Provence Landing transforms the Bunkers site and the Rochelongue sector into a true journey through time, where History has marked our coastline. A day full of emotions, where we pay tribute to the Allied soldiers who liberated Provence on that very date in 1944. Families, history enthusiasts, curious passers-by – everyone finds their place here.

The program is dense and vibrant. Historical reenactments, military parades, exhibitions of period vehicles crunching on gravel, reconstructed camps where volunteers in uniform bring the daily life of the troops back to life. The official commemorative ceremony brings together authorities, war veterans and residents in a moment of sincere remembrance.
